![]() I looked at a LOT of options over the past week and I am so far leaning to "pass" (awful name) as well but I am so not excited for such a clunky and painful user experience.Īt this point, I'm in Password Purgatory. I don't think any of them are viable options though because I'm lazy. I am not in a big rush to change it but I do want to change it if the solutions are reasonable. I am in the same boat as Chris where I used LastPass mostly for the convenience and the security was "good enough" but at this point I'm not really interested in using LastPass. It isn't, and the plugins work, that needs to be clear. I just want to make sure that other Linux users don't dismiss Keepass out of hand because they think the software is unstable (or in beta) or something. I'm glad that Chris and Noah found solutions that work for them, and a gpg-based manager is a perfectly fine way to go. ![]() It just looks like a mid-2000s application, it's not that bad. And finally, who cares if the software is "ugly" and uses Mono, it's functional and after you learn the paradigm (it took me about 10 minutes to understand it) it's straightforward. Occasionally you use a webpage where the plugin can't find the username/password boxes on a site, but in those instances you just copy and paste the passwords directly from the database. The browser plugins, such as chromeIPass, do work, although they don't work out-of-the-box and you need to set them up first. I use Keepass on both Windows and Arch Linux machines (Windows is for work, Linux for home), as well as my Android phone, and it works great. I've had issues with Syncthing causing an error (especially when I upgraded from v0.10.x to v0.11.x) when syncing the database, but that wasn't Keepass's fault. I've used Keepass v2 for over a year and a half, and the software itself has never caused me issues. seems out of left field (I understand Chris did not say this explicitly, but it seemed implied). The latest version 2.30 is listed as stable, so the concern that this software will crash, corrupt the database, etc. Chris mentioned that Keepass 2.x is an alpha/beta product, and I looked through and could not find a single mention of this version being in alpha or beta. I am not sure now if there is an issue with the support ticket system or if the support team is just ignoring and closing my requests, but the overall experience for me is extremely bad.Īs an Enterprise customer I am expecting a 24/7 email support and with the highest priority according to the levels of customer support that LastPass offers and being ignored for more than 2 weeks is really unacceptable. The Keepass discussion that kicked off the password management segment was strange. To be sure that it was not an issue with my account, I've also asked one of my colleagues to submit a new case but the result didn't change. and all the tickets that I've created are simply closed without any reason or comment. Moreover I cannot see these tickets in "My Cases" list but somehow I can still access them with a direct link like I've opened several tickets but I've just received an auto-reply via email with the case numbers and nobody from the support team got back to me. I am using the "contact us" forms both at and but the result is always the same. I have an Enterprise plan and I am trying to get in contact via email with the support team since December, 28th but without success - basically 19 days ago!!
